Technick has been named the winner of the Australian Event Award for the Best Technical Achievement or Innovation in 2015 for our work on the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the 2015 Inaugural European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. Technick has been selected from the four finalists and announced as the winner at the Awards on November 17. Unfortunately, the team could not attend the awards night, but were able to watch it online.

We are honoured to be selected as a finalist and then even more so to win. Australians have a huge presence on the international scene for these types of events and it is very satisfying to have the work recognised at home.

The judges commented on the work by Technick on the European Games Ceremonies, “Wow – what an amazing project. The achievement with this staging and effects system is remarkable on its own – add the time, location and other constraints and it becomes incredible… A brilliant example of Australians performing on a global scale. You are truly inspiring the industry and should be proud of your achievements… I couldn’t be prouder of your representation of Australian Event Management professionals on a global stage.”.

Technick would like to thank everyone we worked with to deliver the Ceremonies for the 2015 Inaugural European Games in Baku, as well as the organisers of the Australian Event Awards.
